Hair in a Bucket is formulated with a specific range of nutrients to promote rapid, healthy & strong hair & hoof growth. Hair in a Bucket is ideal for horses requiring nutritional support for healthy, strong hair & hoof growth including growing out hoof injuries or hoof disease. Great for show preparation too.

There are several important nutrients necessary for healthy hair and hoof growth.

Organic Zinc: Like the skin, the hair has a considerable need for the mineral nutrient zinc. Zinc is involved in the building of keratin, which is one of the main components of hair, skin and hooves. A horse needs zinc for the formation of collagen which helps anchor the hair in the skin. Zinc also facilitates the necessary cell division which makes the growth of hair possible. Hair loss may be the first sign of zinc deficiency. In a chelated organic form, zinc can be absorbed and utilised more efficiently.

Organic Copper: This element is essential in various enzyme systems including those involved in melanin synthesis, keratin synthesis, and disulphide bond linkage. Copper deficiency results in fibre de-pigmentation and loss of hair tensile strength and elasticity leading to breakage.

Biotin – Biotin has long been associated with equine hoof care and hair growth. A horse-fed Biotin can expect a shinier healthier coat with improved overall skin condition. Biotin is best fed in conjunction with Manganese for optimum function.

Organic Manganese: Deficiencies of this important mineral may result in impaired hair growth, poor wound healing and other skin issues as well as loss of hair colour. Without Manganese biotin cannot be used efficiently.

Organic Selenium: The antioxidants of selenium help the body absorb Vitamin E. Selenium also aids the body in processing and using proteins that are consumed. Hair is primarily composed of proteins so when the body is able to better process the proteins, hair growth will follow. Deficiencies in selenium (and zinc) often lead to hair loss. Organic Selenium has been found to have higher digestibility than inorganic selenium.

Methionine: Methionine is an essential amino acid that helps against premature hair loss. It also improves hair texture, quality and growth. Methionine is a powerful antioxidant and a good source of sulphur, a necessary nutrient that helps prevent hair disorders. Methionine increases blood flow to the skin surface thereby increasing nutrient supply to hair follicles and aiding hair production.

The customer is responsible for return postage costs for change-of-mind exchanges, including postage both ways. Exchanged items are sent back to you at our usual postage rate. Frequently Asked Questions

Do Ariat boots run true to size?

Yes, in most styles. Ariat western boots use standard US sizing — use the international equivalents table above to convert your AU/UK size. If you are between sizes or have a wider foot, most customers go up a half size in pointed-toe styles.

How do I measure my head for a hat?

Wrap a tape measure around your head about 1cm above your ear, where the hat will sit. Match the measurement in cm to the Thomas Cook hat chart above — this covers most Akubra-style sizing too.

What's the difference between mid rise and high rise jeans?

Rise is the distance from the crotch to the top of the waistband. Mid rise (around 7–8") sits just below or at the waist; performance/high rise (8½"+) sits at or above the natural waist. The fit tables above show the exact rise for each jean model.
