  • Troppo-Salts has been formulated based on extensive research by Dr John Kohnke to help ensure electrolyte replenishment for optimum sweating ability in tropical weather regions of Australia and overseas. 

    Troppo-Salts is especially formulated for hot and humid tropical regions of QLD, NT and upper WA, where a specialised electrolyte supplement is recommended.  In these conditions, sweat and fluid replenishment for horses is critical, especially when resting, working and travelling. 

    Heavily sweating horses, such as endurance horses, may also benefit from the blend of electrolyte and antioxidants in Troppo-Salts.

    The updated ‘all-in-one’ formula of Troppo-Salts contains all the salts your horse needs.  You now do not need to add extra plain salt.  Troppo-Salts new formula includes antioxidants, zinc and the amino acid L-arginine, as nutrients that may help horses which show symptoms of reduced or patchy sweating, heat stress and anhydrosis. 

    For moderately sweating horses not located in tropical regions, Kohnke’s Own Cell-Salts is recommended. 

Ingredients:

  • Troppo-Salts is formulated to provide essential physiological salts and other electrolytes which help correct a low or inadequate intake in grain, chaff and hay based diets.
  • Troppo-Salts contains essential salts, including sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride, as a concentrated, feed-based electrolyte balancer
  • Troppo-Salts has extra amounts of vitamin E and vitamin C to provide additional antioxidants for optimum electrolyte uptake and help ensure normal sweating is maintained. These antioxidants are also useful to support muscle function and activity in horses working under hot and humid conditions. 
  • Troppo-Salts contains glucose to assist sweat replenishment in hot and humid conditions.
  • Troppo-Salts new formulation in 2021 contains a supplementary source of organic chelated zinc and the amino acid L-arginine, as nutrients linked to critical processes involved in the reduction of cellular oxidative damage from heat stress and other problems horses may experience in hot and humid weather.
  • Troppo-Salts is specially coated to ensure optimum palatability and reduced salt reactivity, preserving fragile vitamins in the feed and eliminating the risk of digestive upset commonly caused by paste or liquid salt solutions
  • Troppo-Salts is vanilla flavoured and a heavy, low dust powder for optimum palatability and reduced wastage.

Supplementation Guidelines

Each level scoopful provides 25 g of Troppo-Salts. Mix the measured amount into the daily feed.  It is recommended to provide Troppo-Salts after extended exercise to encourage rehydration.  Always ensure that adequate, clean & fresh drinking water is available at all times.   

For horses at rest under tropical conditions, feed 25 g daily. 

For horses in light work under tropical conditions, feed 50 grams daily.

For horses in moderate work under tropical conditions, feed 75 grams daily, recommended to split between morning and night feeds. 

For heavily or intensely worked horses, or horses with a dry coat under tropical conditions, feed up to 100 grams daily, split between morning and evening feeds.   

For ponies and miniatures, feed half the above amounts.

Once these items leave our store, we cannot guarantee the conditions they have been stored in, such as temperature, humidity, or exposure to elements, which can affect their efficiency and safety. To ensure the health and well-being of your animals, we have a strict policy of no returns on vet products due to these uncontrollable factors. 2.1 (c) Return Authorisation:

If you need to return goods to us, please contact us by phone or email to obtain a returns authorisation within thirty (30) days of receipt of your product. Please note that we do not accept returns after this 30-day period.

2.3 Shipping Costs

Please note that unless the item is deemed faulty, shipping costs are non-refundable. We will cover the cost of return shipping only if the item is found to be faulty. For all other returns, the cost of return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer.

We appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide the best service while managing shipping costs effectively.

2.4 Any products purchased cannot be returned, exchanged, or replaced simply because you have changed your mind.

2.5 Our returns policy conforms with the regulations of the Office of Consumer Affairs Queensland.

2.6 Goods damaged in transit or due to faulty manufacture, subject to clause 13.6 should be returned for our inspection.

2.7 Replacement goods cannot be sent until we have received the returned goods.

2.8 We will refund any postage costs incurred in returning faulty goods.

2.9 Subject to clause 13.6 we will gladly refund your purchase if the goods supplied are faulty and we are unable to repair or find a replacement.

2.10 Any refund we provide will be made using the same payment method as used to purchase the goods.

3. Exchange of products

3.1 Gympie Saddleworld & Country Clothing will only accept goods for exchange when the goods are returned in unused condition with all tags and labels attached. The customer is responsible for the postage costs both ways if the product chosen needs to be exchanged. 

3.2 All exchanges will be charged at the usual postage rate when returned to you.
